Marianne was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and developed her interest in art while still in elementary school. She was exposed to various media but quickly focused her interest in painting--first oils, then watercolors. Her works are displayed in many art shows, galleries and private shows. She now does metal framing, adult/kids classes, and photography also.
ABOUT THE ART:
Most of my early work was of watercolor landscapes, being quite photorealistic. Much of my work has been inspired from my own photos, and I try to capture these memories in paint. Recent experimentation with acrylics, mixed media and different styles is an exciting learning process!
I'm inspired by a variety of subject matter, but my travels and people in any setting are among my favorite subjects to paint. I strive to depict their story and personalities with paint on paper.
My artwork is a result of my personal impression of nature and people's activities, and I trust it will evoke an emotion in the viewer also, and through the pieces be able to catch a glimpse of where I've been and what I've seen.
